Creating Greener and More Resilient Learning Spaces
In Kitui County, Restoration of Planet Earth supports Early Childhood Development and Education (ECDE) centres to become safer, greener, and more resilient learning environments.
The project promotes eco-friendly ECDE centres through initiatives such as solar lighting, environmental learning, tree planting, water conservation, and hygiene education. Children are introduced to environmental stewardship at an early age, while teachers and communities are equipped with practical knowledge to create sustainable learning spaces.
The project also connects ECDE centres with wider community climate and water initiatives, helping children understand the importance of protecting water, trees, soil, and biodiversity.
